Digital Multimedia @ Buchholz High School

An exciting, creative CTE Program offering curriculum in graphic design, illustration, video editing and special effects, 3D animation, and game development.

The Digital Multimedia program consists of four years that are open to students in all grade levels. The main focus of each year’s curriculum is preparing students for careers in the digital media industry by earning industry recognized certifications. The certifications offered in each year’s class, as well as the topics of study, are detailed below.

Intro to Multimedia (Year 1)

AVAILABILITY
The Introduction to Multimedia class is offered every year and is available to students in all grade levels. There is no prerequisite or application required for this class.

Students who have already received Photoshop and Illustrator certifications, especially if certified in middle school, are still encouraged to register for this class before moving onto Advanced Multimedia. The projects you will complete in this class will provide the framework for the more advanced classes, better prepare you for real industry-level work, and help build a competitive portfolio to use in college and job applications.

TOPICS OF STUDY
Graphic design, digital photography, digital illustration, marketing, 3D printing

CERTIFICATIONS
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

Advanced Multimedia (Years 2-4)

AVAILABILITY
The Advanced Multimedia class is offered every year and is available to students in 10th – 12th grades who have already completed the Introduction to Multimedia class.

Students who have already earned their Photoshop and Illustrator certifications and feel confident in their design and software knowledge can request approval from Mrs. Campbell to register for the Advanced class. You will be asked to complete a brief interview with Mrs. Campbell to determine if an advanced placement is appropriate for you. Please email Mrs. Campbell at campbellj@gm.sbac.edu to discuss this option.
